Starting Pay Range: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour plus compensation plan.

OCCU offers $2 per hour in additional compensation for bilingual Spanish-speaking employees who pass a standardized language test.

Location: Eugene, OR; This position is on-site.

The Insurance Advisor provides high-quality asset protection for current and prospective OCCU members in the areas of personal and commercial insurance lines. They prepare coverage
quotes, present options and educate members in the importance of appropriate and adequate coverages and protection, even when that means OCCU may not bind coverage for that
member. They provide excellent member service to meet and exceed the expectations of the insured. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Every day you will:

Meet with members (in person, on the phone or virtually) to ascertain their insurance needs using a needs-based analysis/conversation and subsequent presentation.
Present educational tools to assist members in choosing adequate insurance coverages to protect their assets.
Utilize the insurance management system daily to ensure all suspense items are completed.
Obtain quotes and/or applications and required forms and other necessary documents from the applicant.
Process signed applications, required forms and other necessary documentation for policy issuance.
Develop relationships with branch operations, centralized loan center, mortgage lending, commercial lending, and other departments to maximize referral opportunities.
Participate in marketing events, business development and social outreach activities to
promote Insurance Services within OCCU field of membership.
Inspect and photograph insured properties as appropriate.
Foster a healthy relationship with insurance carrier partners and
Adhere to all underwriting requirements.
Always operate with the utmost integrity and high ethical standards to provide the best
coverage options possible for our members at the best value available.
Refer members to OCCU products.

To thrive in this role, you must have:

A minimum of one year of demonstrated insurance sales experience.
Demonstrated ability to convert prospects to customers.
Demonstrated analytical skills, problem-solving and development of a strategy that
results in achieving desired outcomes.
Demonstrated informed decision-making skills with high attention to detail in actual work
product, organization, planning, workflow and project prioritization to ensure tasks are
completed efficiently and accurately.
Effective communication in written and spoken form is critical.
Strong organizational skills necessary for managing heavy workloads and multiple tasks,
creating documentation, record keeping and maintaining accurate records.
Acquired or can acquire, appropriate insurance licensing as required and within 60 days of hire.
